Udyog Aadhar Download: Is the Old Certificate Still Valid?
No. Udyog Aadhaar was replaced by Udyam Registration on 1 July 2020. Old certificates were allowed to run for a while, and the Ministry of MSME extended that period for the last time to 30 June 2022 (Notification S.O. 2134(E), dated 6 May 2022).
After that date a bank, a tender portal or a government scheme will not accept a Udyog Aadhaar certificate. What they ask for is the Udyam Registration Certificate. So the download most people need today is the Udyam certificate.
How to Download and Print Your Certificate
- Open the government portal: udyamregistration.gov.in. The download is free.
- Open Print/Verify in the top menu and choose Print Udyam Certificate.
- Enter your Udyam Registration Number (it looks like UDYAM-XX-00-0000000) and the mobile number given at registration.
- Choose where to get the OTP and enter it.
- Download the PDF. The certificate opens on screen with a print option. Save it as a PDF.
- Print on plain A4 if you need a paper copy. Most banks and tender portals accept the PDF as it is.
Udyog Aadhaar Download by UAM Number
If all you have is an old UAM number (it looks like DL05A0000001), there is no valid certificate left to download with it. You need a Udyam Registration. The business details are declared again on the Udyam portal with Aadhaar and PAN, and a new certificate is issued with a Udyam Registration Number.

Forgot Your Udyog Aadhaar or Udyam Number?
The portal can send it to you. No login is needed.
- Open udyamregistration.gov.in.
- Open Print/Verify and choose Forgot Udyam/Udyog Aadhaar No.
- Select the registration type: Udyam, or Udyog Aadhaar if you registered under the old system.
- Enter the mobile number or email used at registration.
- Generate the OTP and enter it.
- The number is sent to your registered mobile or email. Use it to download the certificate with the steps above.

What the Certificate Is Used For
- Bank loans: banks use the certificate to treat the loan as MSME lending.

- Schemes and subsidies: most MSME schemes ask for the certificate at the time of application.
